Upcoming City Events
July 6 - Music in the park - The Jolly Ramblers | Huset Park East | 6:30-8 PM
With a combined total of more than 200 years in the music and dance band industry, Chuck Thiel and his Jolly Ramblers of Lester Prairie, Mn., will please you with their genuine style of danceable music that is pleasing to all old-time and modern dancers and listeners alike. A steady beat and beautiful instrumental and vocal blends make this band very popular throughout the upper-Midwest.

August 2 - National Night out | Citywide
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, holding block parties and getting to know their neighbors to encourage crime prevention. The Police and Fire Departments will be visiting registered parties, so if you are interested in hosting an event, please contact Officer Bill Monberg at BMonberg@columbiaheightsmn.gov or call him at 763-706-8142. If you’re interested in having your street blocked for National Night Out, mention that in your message to Officer Monberg. And again this year, officers will be collecting donations for the SACA food shelf at each party.

August 3 - Music in the park - Pickle | Huset Park East | 6:30-8 PM
In 2017, a couple of Columbia Heights neighbors met in Jimmy's Pro Billiards and decided to learn a few cover songs. Fast forward a few years and a couple more musical converts and you have Pickle. We play songs from the '60s through the early 2000s, the kind of songs that make you turn around on your bar stool with a smile on your face.

August 11 - movie in the park - Ferris Bueller's day off | Huset Park west | 8:30 pm
In this 1986 comedy classic, Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) has an uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, "borrows" a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day journey through the streets of Chicago as his high school principal Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) tries to catch him in the act.

August 25 - movie in the park - harry potter and the goblet of fire sponsored by the sister cities | Huset Park west | 8 pm
The fourth movie in the Harry Potter franchise sees Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) returning for his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with his friends, Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson). There is an upcoming tournament between the three major schools of magic, with one participant selected from each school by the Goblet of Fire. When Harry's name is drawn, even though he is not eligible and is a fourth player, he must compete in the dangerous contest.

September 16 - movie in the park - Encanto sponsored by new horizon academy | Mckenna park | 7:30 pm
The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.
